Hair and Beauty Show 2010

I had the the opportunity to attend the Hair and Beauty Show Yesterday at the Meadowland's Arena in Secaucus, New Jersey yesterday and I must admit that I was Highly disappointed. The show overall was just G.H.E.T.T.O, but now that I'm thinking about it, it wasn't really the show in its entirety but rather the some of the people. More specifically the woman that was standing next to me stealing nail art!! like really???? did she really have to steal that!?? Not only was the crowd "hood" the products that they were offering really had no deals on them and to make matters worst they were selling fake MAC products! like seriously??? although the show was a complete and utter disappointment I manage to make the best out of it. I purchased 3 Mini flat irons for 35 bucks, some eyeshadow and a mini blush pallet. I haven't yet tested out these products but as soon as I do I will definitely give you guys the run down on them. I'm 95% sure that I will not be going back next year!

Mac To The Beach

Last night I had the privilege to attend MAC's sneak peak of their new summer line Mac To The Beach which officially comes out in the USA on May 27,2010. I must say I was quite impressed with the line. My favorite were the the bronzers and the eye shadows. When I think of this line I think about relaxing on the beach of Miami South Beach giving nothing but pure fabulosity.......Yess Honeeeeeyyyy!!! This Line definitely makes me want to shimmy. Keyshia Diors Fly Make up

So I came across Miami, FL Native Keyshia Dior's photo ( she's the girl in Timberlands and Drake say something video) and I must say that her Make up in the photo is absolutely beautiful. I would definitely rock this look. Shout out to her make up artist for such an outstanding job.

Maybelline Liquid Mousse Foundation

Lately I've been getting really annoyed by some of these foundations on the market, so I've taken upon myself to find some of the best foundations out on the market. To be honest I'm tired of using my MAC foundations. They do nothing for me ( this is just my personal opinion). I know some of you out their are pro MAC and believe me I love MAC as well, but I do feel that MAC is a bit overrated. Their are tons of other products out there that work and can get the job done; It's just a matter of trial and error. In my efforts to find wonderful make up I stumbled across Maybelline Liquid Mousse Foundation. Now on a regular day I would have walked right pass this foundation, but today I thought what the hell, I have nothing to loose but $7 bucks( it was on sale). Besides $7 bucks it's way better than spending $25+ on foundation to discover you hate it. To my surprise this foundation definitely gave me full coverage and nice air brushed look. Although it did all of that I'm still not 100% sold on this product. It's just something about it that doesn't make me want to shimey shake. I think I'm going to continue to test the waters and see what else is out there before I totally commit myself to this product.

Color Clubs N21 Twiggie

A few weeks ago I blogged about my addiction to the drug store, well on my escapade at the drug store I picked up Color Clubs N21 Twiggie polish. I must say I Love Love Love this polish! it works for any skin tone. I'm starting to become a huge fan of Color Club polishes. They're affordable(2.99) and I don't have to worry about the cap of the polish getting stuck like OPI nail polish ( am I the only person that encounters this with OPI polishes?). This polish should definitely be added to your nail polish collection.

So my friend had on this fabulous nail polish and I had to share it with you guys. It's called "In The Lime Light" by China Glaze ($5). "In The Lime Light" is a great summer color that you can pull off with almost any outfit. It's chic and fashionable (shimmy shake and a snap). I don't know about you guys, but I for one have a phobia of having dry cracked lips. I can't stand it when I see a diva with lipstick on and some cracked up lips! Honeyyyyyyy Cracked lips are not cute! especially dry cracked lips with lipstick/lipgloss, besides nobody wants to kiss concrete lips (Shaking my head at the thought). In order to avoid having dry cracked lips it's important to treat your lips ( yes dolls your lips need TLC too). So one of my co workers asked me to give her a really quick make up job because she was going out after work. I definitely wasn't prepared so I had to use her products and make due of what I had. Anyway she pulled out this mascara from Sephora called Tarte lights camera Lashes!to my surprise this Mascara worked amazingly ( shimmy shake and a snap). It works wonders for people that have really thick eyelashes but are looking for length. Not to mention it comes in cute leather case. If you have $19 bucks to spare on mascara I would definitely recommend this product. You can get this product from Sephora for $19 bucks.

Yikes!!! Over Tweezed eyebrows

If their is one thing I cannot stand it's an over tweezed eyebrow! I for one am a victim of this thanks to the the little Asian lady that goes by the name of......-_- (Darn I can't even remember her name) that should have been the Que for me to exit, but oh wells. It can be a bit frustrating walking around with eyebrows that look like they've been ambushed, for goodness sakes busted eyebrows can ruin your entire look. With that being said here goes easy instructions on how to fix over tweezed eyebrows.

You will need

1. Brow Powder or Liner- There are brows powders and liners you can buy in many different colors, so be sure to choose a shade closest to you natural eyebrow color.
2. An Angled Eyeshadow brush- This helps you to apply the brow powder evenly and smoothly, this will also help to give your eyebrows a more natural appearance.
3. Eyeshadow-You can use an eyeshadow closest to you natural brow color if you do not have a pencil or brow powder.

Take the angled eye shadow brush and press a small amount of eyeshadow/ brow powder/liner to the brow. Be sure to follow the natural direction of your brow and extend the shadow that is already on the brow to the edge of the brow, this will create a more natural look.

Take a tissue and pat it on the top of your brow lightly and gently to remove excess powder.

If this doesn't work to achieve the fullness you desire you may need to use eyebrow pencil. Take the eye pencil and start filling in under the brow and follow the line of the brow out to the edge of the eyes. Use a soft triangular makeup sponge to press some of the powder onto the pencil line to soften up the line. If your looking for a specific shape you can use an eyebrow stencil and follow the shape of the stencil. If all fails and your brows are still busted just wear bangs until your eyebrows grow out lol :)
