Foods For Great Skin

Summer is coming and I for one am dreading wearing foundation in the summer heat! The question that may arise is, " what can I do to achieve flawless skin with out wearing foundation?"
The answer is simple! you are what you eat! Don't get me wrong I love eating greasy
foods, but if you cut back on fats and add more nutrients into your meals you will notice a great difference in your skin. I have compiled a list of great foods for the skin.

Low Fat Dairy products ( are essentials for vitamin A )
Blackberries, Blueberries, strawberries and Plums (high in antioxidants )
Salmon, walnuts, canola oil and flax seed (essential fatty acids)
Green Tea ( Has anti-inflammatory properties, also reduces the risk if skin cancer)
Water( Keeps your skin Hydrated)

I hope this helps to give you better in site on how to achieve better looking skin, after all in order to achieve the best photo finished look with any makeup application you have to ensure that your own skin is healthy.

Fashionably Pink....PnkElephant.com

PnkElephant.com launched their line Fashionably pink. The models were dipped in couture designs by Marco and the Urban chic accessories by PnkElephant. As DJ Jazzy Joyce spun all the hottest tunes and the spectators sipped Pool Vodka everyone couldn't help but to enjoy the incredible scene. I mean really what could be better than fashion and booze????( Just Joking). This Urban Chic accessory line is no doubt one of a kind. My personal favorite item is the Bubble Gum Necklace ($15) and the Multi Rocky Onxy bib ($17) these pieces are definitely worth a shimmy shake :). Serius Jones couldn't even resist getting a sneak peak of what Pnkelephant.com had to offer ( I wonder whose the lucky lady LOL). Log on to Pnkekephant.com and see for yourself!!!

Color Club MODern Pink

So I went out last night and everyone kept complimenting me on my polish. I explained to everyone that the polish I had on my nails was the exact same polish that I blogged about a few days ago ( Color Club's MODern Pink ) and everyone said that the color looked nothing like the picture I posted. I decided to post a picture of my nails so that you guys can get a good picture of the polish color. Enjoy Divas!!

Chipped Toe Polish..... NOT hawt!

Summer is coming and I am looking forward to the summer fabulosity, but one thing that I am not looking forward to is chipped toe polish!!!! Ladies if your going to wear open toes please take the time to make sure your feet are perfectly polished. If you don't have the time to get a pedicure or polish your feet on your own then don't wear polish at all! I pray that none of you dolls fall victim to the horrendous crime or you will be exposed (these are not my toes LOL).

Loreal Hip Eyeshadow Duo

I did a photoshoot using L' Oreal Hip eyeshadow duo Showy and this product worked absolutely amazing on my model (pictured above). The color I used is called Showy and you get 2 eyeshadow colors for about $7. This shadow is rich in color and last all day. It also shows up perfect in photos. This product is a definitely worth a shimmy shake and a snap.

Pretty N Pink

This spring it's all about pink... so I thought it would be a great idea to tell you guys about this great polish I tried called Called Color Club. Color Club isn't a new nail polish brand; they've actually been around since 1979. However this was the first time that I actually paid attention to the product. Anyway I tried this color called "MODern Pink " and it was absolutely amazing. The polish itself was rich and it didn't leave any streaks. With just two coats the color was vibrant and shiny. This color is perfect for all skin tones. For $2.99 you can't go wrong. This is definitely a must have for this spring.

Drug Store Rehab..

I swear their is something wrong with me! I'm addicted to the Drug Store
or shall i say I'm addicted to Duane Reade. Every time I walk pass a Duane Reade it's like I have to go in and once i'm in i feel like I'm on cloud 9! and for those of us from NYC you know there is a Duane Reade on every corner!!! so really! how am I suppose to control myself ( BBM sad Face)??? with so many beauty products to choose from it's easy for a gal like me to want to get a fix. From Essie/OPI nail polish to Revlon color stay Lipstick I always end up purchasing a bunch of stuff that I'm sure I could do with out ( well maybe not, but you get my drift). Today as I sat behind my desk all I could think about was heading to Duane Reade on my lunch break. As soon as 12 o'clock hit I grabbed my purse and literally ran out the building( lmao). As I entered I promised myself I wouldn't spend more that $10 bucks( smh at myself). As I picked up several nail polishes and other miscellaneous items I couldn't help to think that just maybe I would have the courage to put things back, unfortunately everything I picked up I needed (lol). By the time I got to the register ended up spending almost $40 (sigh). If their was a rehabilitation center for Drug Store shopping addicts I swear I would be the first one admitted ( Smirk).. the sad thing about it is that I really don't care (LOL). Anyway gals and guys I can't wait to try my new products and when I do I'll be sure to inform you guys on how well they worked :)

Casa De Muse: Spring Fling Pretty in Pink

Casa De Muse: Spring Fling Pretty in Pink

Spring Fling Pretty in Pink

OK Dolls, Spring is almost here!!! it's time to put up those winter palettes and bring in those Spring colors. This spring it's all about PINK, PINK and more PINK. Pink eyeshadow!!! Pink blush !!! Pink Lipstick!! but lets not get TOO carried away ,you'll need to pink it out in moderation Divas/Divos. It's important that your makeup should look natural and fresh. Here are a few tips to achieve your perfect Spring Fling pretty in Pink look.

Foundation

Choosing a foundation can be very tricky. Choosing the wrong color could have you looking like crusty the clown so it's important to choose a foundation based on you skin type and color.

  • If your skin is dry choose a liquid, stick or hydrating foundation

  • If your skin is oily, use an oil-free or powder foundation

  • If you have combination skin use a powder foundation
  • Most importantly choose a foundation color close to your skin tone.

Eyes

Eyeshadow
Before applying any eyeshadow it's important to start with a primer. You can use Mac Paint Peintures or Mattese N.Y.C Curve Contour and Design (it's not really a primer but it works well for holding eyeshadow color) you can purchase this from Ricky's.

  • Apply the primer just on the eyelid
  • Use a Gold, Soft Pink, Coral, Brown or Green eyeshadow (apply eyeshadow just on the lid. for darker woman I would suggest using a eyeshadow with a gold undertone).
  • Apply mascara to Eyelash
  • Apply a brown liner

    Cheeks
Apply a soft pink or coral blush to give that fresh appearance

    Lips
Use a Nude, Pale pink or clear Lip gloss

***Use a skin finish powder to to complete this look ( this will give the skin a more natural look rather than a cakey appearance)****

I hope these tips were helpful. For more makeup tips, comments and questions email CasaDeMuse@gmail.com

Sephora's Color Play 5 in 1

So I walked into Sephora today ( a usual routine) and as soon as I walked in I couldn't help but notice Sephora's brand new 5 in 1 color palette. This color filled eyeshadow and blush pallete was definitely a attention grabber.... I couldn't help but to notice the big sign next to it that said $29.50 ( value $150). So of course being the person that I am I decided to sample the product. To my surprise I found the eyeshadow to be very high in pigment ( definitely a plus) and their were a bunch of great colors the only thing I didn't like was the blush. The colors were blah ,but if you know what your doing I'm sure it could work. This palette is perfect for Divas that are just starting out with makeup or for someone who doesn't wear makeup often and don't want to spend a arm and a leg on just one eyeshadow. This is a great buy ladies and gents! hurry up and get it while it lasts. I'm sure Sephora will be jacking up the price real soon.

Makeup Brushes....Get more for less

When creating art every artist needs the right tools. Chefs need the right knifes, singers need the best voice(well not so much cause their are a lot of horrible singers out there, but you get my point***bbm side eye****) and painters need the right paint brushes. With that being said it's important for you to use the highest quality makeup brushes.....right??? or so they say. In my generation of makeup lovers ( no I am not that old) everyone swearssssssssssssss by Mac brushes. Don't get me wrong, Mac makeup brushes are GREAT!! they are easy to use, soft, durable, they get the the job done flawlessly ( if you know what your doing). Theirs just one problem! Mac brushes can surely leave you BROKE.COM (Ranging from $19.50 and up for just one brush). Although Mac brushes are a more "professional" and "reputable" tool for makeup artists their are certainly other brushes that can be used that for a fraction of the cost. Maxine's Mop Brushes by Loew-Cornell are actually paint brushes but can be substituted for Mac Makeup brushes($5 buckerooze:). These brushes apply colors evenly and are excellent for blending. They also hold color so that you won't have makeup in unwanted places on your face. They even look just like mac brushes. If you don't believe me check it out for yourself.

Affordable Mascara that works

With everyone wanting longer and fuller eyelashes these days and hundreds of different mascara's out their I know it can be a bit overwhelming to choose the right one that works without breaking your pockets. If your anything like me ( a recessionista) then you would hate to spend money on a product that doesn't work to your expectation. Lets be real, not everyone can afford to spend $24 Mascara, So I've decided to let all you Make up Divas/Divos know about Avons Super Shock Mascara. To be honest when I seen the price of this Mascara I was extremely skeptical. I didn't think that a product at this price point ($4.99) would do anything for my lashes, but after going through a ridiculous number of Mascara's (expensive and inexpensive) that clumped together, dried up quickly or had hardly anything in them I decided to give it a try. This Mascara is absolutely amazing. The wand separates lashes beautifully and provides for a very natural and bold look. It adds length and volume, never clumps and lasts all day without flaking. So if your looking for an affordable Mascara that does exactly as promised then contact your local Avon representative and order Avons Super Shock Mascara.

To Lash or Not to Lash.... Fake eyelashes??

PASS

FAIL

Fake eyelashes could be a great tool to enhance your eyes when going on a fabulous night out on the town. But to be quite honest some of you divas have gone to far !!! Eyelashes are meant to enhance your natural beauty not make you look like dumbo the flying elephant. It is extremely bothersome to see some of these dolls with these extra long lashes glued so close together or lashes so darn long that they look like their about to fly away with every blink of the eye. Or even worst wearing eyelashes with not one ounce of make up on, a pair of Skinny Jeans and Nike Jordan's. Divas, we definitely need to be very careful with what we wear when deciding to take on the responsibility of wearing these false eye lashes and when I say responsibility I do mean RESPONSIBILITY because their is a lot than can go wrong with your eyes when wearing these eye lashes. Don't get me wrong, I love false eyes lashes ( I prefer the strips rather than the individuals) they can add so much umpf to a person appearance, but the line has got to be drawn some where.. and it stops here! lets review these basic eyelash applications pray to the heavens above that their will fewer people rocking bird wings on their eye lids.

How to apply Lashes (Strips):

You can apply them before or after you do your eye makeup (including mascara), but I prefer to put them on after all eye makeup is done.

  • 1. After removing the lashes from their packaging, wrap them around your index finger. This helps to make the lash conform to the curve of your eye lid.

  • Before applying any glue, measure the lash on your eyes to make sure they fit the length of your lash line. If the band is too long or the lashes are too long, you’ll need to trim them.
  • Apply a thin layer of lash glue . Wait about 20-30 seconds so the glue gets sticky ( not completely dry)
  • Getting as close to your natural lash line as possible, place the lash in the area where your lashes meet your eyelid. If you don't have steady hands you can use use a pair of tweezers to hold the lashes by the tips of the lashes. You can also use the flat end of the tweezers to gently press the lashes in place.

  • Wait about a minute for the lashes to set. Then use a lash curler to gently curl the lashes so that they blend with your natural ones.
To remove, just dip a Q-tip in some baby oil or eye makeup remover and gently rub on the band of the lashes until they easily come loose. DO NOT pull the lashes off or you can accidentally rip your real lashes off.

Divas please keep these lashes as natural as possible this means no glue clunked together, or extremely long and crazy looking eye lashes! Keep it classy and sophisticated.

**** It is important to remove these eyelashes on a daily basis to prevent risk of infection****

Individual eyelashes

If you are looking for something to last longer then individual eyelashes would be your best bet. I wouldn't recommend you putting them on yourself as placing them on incorrectly could result in infection or the lost of your own eyelash. I strongly suggest getting them done professionally and when I say professionally I don't mean by your cousins friend aunt sister. It's important to research these location as hygiene is important.
