To Lash or Not to Lash.... Fake eyelashes??

PASS

FAIL

Fake eyelashes could be a great tool to enhance your eyes when going on a fabulous night out on the town. But to be quite honest some of you divas have gone to far !!! Eyelashes are meant to enhance your natural beauty not make you look like dumbo the flying elephant. It is extremely bothersome to see some of these dolls with these extra long lashes glued so close together or lashes so darn long that they look like their about to fly away with every blink of the eye. Or even worst wearing eyelashes with not one ounce of make up on, a pair of Skinny Jeans and Nike Jordan's. Divas, we definitely need to be very careful with what we wear when deciding to take on the responsibility of wearing these false eye lashes and when I say responsibility I do mean RESPONSIBILITY because their is a lot than can go wrong with your eyes when wearing these eye lashes. Don't get me wrong, I love false eyes lashes ( I prefer the strips rather than the individuals) they can add so much umpf to a person appearance, but the line has got to be drawn some where.. and it stops here! lets review these basic eyelash applications pray to the heavens above that their will fewer people rocking bird wings on their eye lids.

How to apply Lashes (Strips):

You can apply them before or after you do your eye makeup (including mascara), but I prefer to put them on after all eye makeup is done.

  • 1. After removing the lashes from their packaging, wrap them around your index finger. This helps to make the lash conform to the curve of your eye lid.

  • Before applying any glue, measure the lash on your eyes to make sure they fit the length of your lash line. If the band is too long or the lashes are too long, you’ll need to trim them.
  • Apply a thin layer of lash glue . Wait about 20-30 seconds so the glue gets sticky ( not completely dry)
  • Getting as close to your natural lash line as possible, place the lash in the area where your lashes meet your eyelid. If you don't have steady hands you can use use a pair of tweezers to hold the lashes by the tips of the lashes. You can also use the flat end of the tweezers to gently press the lashes in place.

  • Wait about a minute for the lashes to set. Then use a lash curler to gently curl the lashes so that they blend with your natural ones.
To remove, just dip a Q-tip in some baby oil or eye makeup remover and gently rub on the band of the lashes until they easily come loose. DO NOT pull the lashes off or you can accidentally rip your real lashes off.

Divas please keep these lashes as natural as possible this means no glue clunked together, or extremely long and crazy looking eye lashes! Keep it classy and sophisticated.

**** It is important to remove these eyelashes on a daily basis to prevent risk of infection****

Individual eyelashes

If you are looking for something to last longer then individual eyelashes would be your best bet. I wouldn't recommend you putting them on yourself as placing them on incorrectly could result in infection or the lost of your own eyelash. I strongly suggest getting them done professionally and when I say professionally I don't mean by your cousins friend aunt sister. It's important to research these location as hygiene is important.
